Editor: I just read your “New Year Victory Plan.” And I thought I was a pessimist. Joseph Barrett, Silver Spring, MD

Editor: Congratulations on your realistic not pessimistic essay, “New Year Victory Plan.” Lee Edwards

Editor: Thanks for “New Year Victory Plan.” I especially liked the line, “Even if Hillary loses, no conservative will become president, since none is running.” JL, Washington, DC

Editor: I think you hit it on the head in “New Year Victory Plan.” The Democrats have it right and the GOP has it wrong: they will not impeach Bush/Cheney, they will "kick them around for two more years," to paraphrase tricky Dick, and will allow the war to go on so they can beat us over the head with that too. We are ruled by tyrants and the alternatives are idiots. Will the evangelicals go home? Will the "conservatives" get a decent education? Will the neocons please shut up?And, that haunting question I don't want answered: Do we deserve better? CM

Editor: I normally don’t flack for such things but “New Year Victory Plan” is especially worth taking a few minutes to read and contemplate so I have sent it to my associates. BL

Editor: Regarding “New Year Victory Plan,” I have a little scrap book of events from the year one of my kids was born. I looked at it the other day and there are newspaper articles about Reagan running up the deficit and calling it a necessary evil. I thought I should remind you that he talked about a government that doesn't spend too much but he didn't do it. Cathy Haustein [Editor replies: Yes he did—see the lead editorial this week.]

Editor: Well said in “New Year Victory Plan.” My plan is to dump the RINO'S every chance we get! In the meantime all true conservatives need to band together to block as much as possible all the upcoming presidential, congressional, bureaucratic, regulatory, liberal garbage that threatens our very way of life. H

Editor: In his “Recapture the GOP” Jeff Crouere forgot to mention that the ba---rds even gave money to and campaigned for a liberal Democrat Liberman over a Republican and helped RINO Sen. Chafee too over a conservative. The h--l with the GOP. I am supporting and voting for the Constitution Party or not voting. We helped eliminate Sen. Daschle and that probably was a mistake. Total gridlock is best solution so the government can not throw our money away or take any more of our rights from us. Concerned Citizen, Benton Bain, Frederick, SD

Editor: Besides the reasons Bob Barr gives in his “Bipartisanship?” article, another reason the ACU should dump cold water on this term whenever it comes up is that in the leftie lexicon, it means "of course we can avoid all this inter-party wrangling -- all you have to do is agree with us that big government is the way to go." WRANGLING IS GOOD when the opposition wants to go the wrong way. If you have one party that wants to go East, and one party that wants to go West, you do not lead them by standing up, pointing in both directions, and shouting FORWARD. In fact wrangling is the only principled thing to do when faced with that. Perhaps that is a good theme for our side. BTW, I noted the bipartisan theme being stressed in thumbing thru Barak Obama’s new book in the bookstore. Art B in upstate NY

Editor: I agree completely with Spencer Warren’s article “Clint Eastwood’s Flag” in your last edition. I'd like to e-mail this article to a few friends. Donna Goldcamp, Kailua, Hawaii

Editor: I just read Spencer Warren’s article “Clint Eastwood’s Flag” about the film. It sounds like Eastwood took a dynamite book and slaughtered it. I just finished listening to it on an audio book. I had no idea Eastwood was so far to the left. I enjoyed many of his films but I won't any more. You wanted my opinion so there it is. I have saved your web page so I can check it out more tomorrow since it is so late tonight. I don't know how I got on your mailing list but I hope you send me more things like this. I like it. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem Ps 122:6. Tom Caramanno
