Editor: Great article on “Gore Sea Levels” by Dennis Avery that dealt with the specifics of the melting of the Arctic ice cap.  Some other little facts warrant mention too.  Notice that Gore says global warming is due to "human" creation of CO2 gases.  The so-called expert scientist panel (2006) also used the same logic as Al Gore.  But, the problem is that one volcanic eruption puts more CO2 in the air than does human activity for 200 to 300 years.  There are approximately 10 eruptions within a five year period of time, on average.  I guess those volcanoes do not meet EPA emissions standards and need a filter cork.  Also, understand that CO2 non-human but domesticated animal activities contribute more gas than humans (anyone who has been near a cow farm knows exactly what I am talking about).  Of course, that second point could be considered a "human activity" but I think you get the picture.  The picture is this, the world's environment is not a stable, constant force and the weather changes alluded to have happened--without human intervention--in the past, will happen again as the cycle of life continues.  Because we humans have a tendency to be egocentric, we like to think that we have huge influences on our environment just like we think we have huge influences on all other things.  We don't!  Our influence on the environment when compared to nature's course is so miniscule; we cannot even say it is the tip of the iceberg.  Whatever instability comes, it will be because nature has willed it--not because we have done anything to instigate it.  We should not give ourselves so much credit. Editor: I thoroughly enjoyed your article on Al Gore's movie. Please feel free to add me to your list of adoring fans.  As a realist and Army officer, I appreciate the not so common common sense aspects of a well documented and factual piece of literature. Easy read and straight to the point.  Good job. Charles R. Lawson

Editor: Regarding “Gore Sea Levels?” isn't it interesting about his claims on east and west ice sheets? My question is: which are the East and West Ice Sheets? Every direction from the South Pole is north. You have 360 degrees of north, that's a lot of north. Also how does AlGore explain the 6 dinosaur remains that have been discovered in the Antarctic? Oh yea, their DG's were caged and they just wandered south till there wasn't anymore south. I know one race AlGore can win hands down: Dumbest man on the planet. Thanks Doug Millard

Editor: Contra Al Gore, I still maintain that ice ages have come and gone since the planet has been in existence, and probably will continue to do so forever. How long is forever?? One could go stark, raving insane trying to figure that out/ So I just try to stay warm in winter and cool in summer and let God figure it out !!!!! Frances Shannon

Editor: For those truly worried about Al Gore's scenario; the answer is an old-fashioned conservative one.  Plant more trees.  Six apple trees will soak up more atmospheric carbon than an SUV will put out in a 15 year usable lifecycle. Theodore M. Seeber

Editor: A real “Inconvenient Truth” is that Al Gore is unelectable anywhere in the United States.  Knowing this, he has recently taken up "disaster film" production, and (true to his liberal ideals), he's making money while they're losing it. Brian Lynch

Editor: That is an interesting piece by Denis Avery on “Gore Sea Levels.” Denise Dunn

Editor: Thanks for the insightful article about "Gore's world".  I have read volumes on the issue of global warming.  It would appear that the only believers in GW are the ones with a "dog in the fight", as it were -- those whose funding depends on disaster scenarios.  However, climatologists, and all those who study weather and climate, are very careful to even agree that the earth may be warming a bit -- the 0.6 degrees that you mentioned, most of which occurred prior to WW ll. Gore's movie has made believers out of many who have not studied the issue.  Sad. Ron Glass, Pilesgrove, NJ

Editor: Thank you for a wonderful, though brief, piece, "Gore Lea Levels?" Would that our local member of the Fourth Estate, the San Angelo Standard Times could print it.  Though aged 74 myself, I have some really elderly friends  who have mentioned Algore's (mis)representations, expressing distress at  the  fear the oceans will flood us along our coastline perhaps even in their lifetimes.  These friends take Gore's fantasies for real. Terry Smith, San Angelo, TX

Editor: I wouldn't believe a word that came out of that man's mouth!! If these scientists are jumping on board with Al Gore, they are just crazy Democrats with their own agenda!!! Sincerely, Kimberly A. Guerra
