Editor: After reading your editorial “It’s Only Homeland Security” and Thomas Brewton’s “Unions Admit Killing Jobs” I think the following should be added to the every communication concerning the next election: LABOR UNIONS ARE DESTROYING AMERICAN JOBS John D. Watts

Editor: Well, I strongly disagree with your editorial “”It’s Only Homeland Security.” The number one concern in California right now is immigration enforcement/security.  Labor concerns have to be dealt with but not until we know who is in the country and why. Susan Abato

Editor: Please accept this as belated thanks for “Reagan’s Iranian ‘Timidity.’” It was excellent and I just want to tell you that I agree whole-heartedly. Tara, a conservative Virginian

Editor: Your article by Fiona Kobusingye-Boynes in favor of DDT is the most intelligent and insightful plea I've ever heard.  I hope the politicians and those holding it back will hear her.  People are what is most important, not environmental fantasies. I have personally sent hundreds of dollars to a pastor in Kenya for treatment of Malaria both in him and his wife, but also their 3 sons.  He just lost his brother to malaria last week.  I don't have any extra money, so this works a hardship on me, but it means life or death to them. Lois Amacher

Editor: Fiona Kobusingye-Boynes’ “Plea For DDT” is a great article. It should be read by everyone who does not have their head planted deeply in the current environmental insanity. This article makes it very clear that environmentalists have killed more people than all of the wars in the history of man. Dick, Piqua, OH

Editor: Scientific studies on DDT have determined that it is harmless to humans, but deadly to bugs, especially mosquitoes. I think it is time to decide whether it is the mosquitoes or us. We must kill them before they kill us with all the disease they carry. I am 70 years old and have used DDT a lot, even on myself with no ill effects, but it kills bugs quick.  You can help, by getting the truth out and damn the environmentalist wackos who will protest anything for the light of fame to shine on them. Thank you for the articles by Fiona Kobusingye-Boynes and Tom Coburn. George Dupire

Editor: Really appreciate "NAS Flunks Science" by Dennis Avery. This subject is one of my pet peeves. Enclosed is one version of my observations on the subject which tells me that Alaska, at one time had a "Tropical Event" in it's past. Ditto for the Antarctic. Paul Harvey reports on the discovery of remains of 6 Dinosaurs in the Antarctic. I see this as indicative of cyclical climatic swings, definitely not MY fault. Aviation Sectional charts of the North Slope note 2 areas of "Oil Lakes". Page 84 in the book "Fifty Years Below Zero" by Charles D. Brower gives a vivid description of some of these "Oil Lakes". It was the existence of these "Oil Lakes" that alerted the U.S. Navy in the 1940's to the possibility of oil in the Arctic. Sadly I must confess that for 28 years I made a very fine living flying men and supplies to the "Slope" in our greedy quest to plunder natures bounty. My head hangs in shame. For what it's worth, Doug Millard, Capt. (Ret.), Wien Alaska Airlines

Editor: Thank you for your clear statement by conservative leaders of opposition to "comprehensive" immigration legislation.  I agree with their essay, and as a consequence I have been characterized by everyone from the President of the United States down to the worst journalistic hack as a "nativist", a bigot, and a knuckle dragger.  It is nice to know I have such good company in this excoriation. Sincerely, Craig Johnson

Editor: The conservative leaders are 100% right on immigration. Keep up the good work Tom Reynolds

Editor: Sad But the Jeffersons Won't Be Cancelled. I could not agree more with Jeff Crouere’s comments in “Cancel These Jeffersons” but with only three weeks left to register as a candidate in the November congressional election in Louisiana only two other candidates have registered to oppose Jefferson and neither have the political muscle to be a threat. One is a white 30 year old lawyer from Jefferson who is reported to have less than one-third the "cold cash" as William Jefferson and the other is a complete unknown reported to have no campaign funds at all. Given the demographics of the district in question and the level of opposition, William Jefferson will be reelected even if the Justice Department were  to file charges in the next few weeks. Might as well get you a new pair of sun glasses to cover up the new black eye Louisiana is going to get in the national media. Too bad the entire state gets painted with the same brush. Viva Le Banana Republique La Louisiane! Living outside the City but maybe moving further. BE

Editor: Nathan Tabor has done very well done on his Jackson article.  I have first hand knowledge about some privately held companies in the Carolinas where he made the same approach.  My associates hired private detectives to follow him, take photos of his philandering and when Jackson came for the shakedown, exposed the pictures.  He quickly went away.  He is an abject phony and an even worse representative for the Black community. Keep up the good work! Faithfully, Michael R. Whelan, New York, New York

Editor: Nathan Tabor’s “Jesse Jackson Shakedown” is correct. It is of the utmost necessity to stop Jackson from succeeding with this blackmail. It is appropriate for all people to have equal treatment not just Jackson's people. Jackson is demanding privilege in exchange for not extorting money from companies and institutions. That is against the law. Let's prosecute this bad one. When are good and honest people going to rise up against Jackson's fraud and extortion? Your article can help accomplish that. Yeda Baker

Editor: Didn't Jesse Jackson use money from Operation Push to buy things for his female friends and does the amount of money he collects not meet the requirements for use for the purposes the organization was set up for? What percent goes for charitable functions and what percent for politics? Shouldn't his 501(c) 3 status or whatever it is be revoked?  Maybe if you got his 990's you could hold his feet to the fire.  Thanks for the article.  Richard Porter

Editor: Nathan Tabor’s article is simply another example of why Chicago Tribune columnist John Kass calls The Reverend, Jesse "the King of Beers" Jackson.  This name was conferred over Jesse's blackmail of Anheuser-Busch that resulted in 2 of Jesse's kids being awarded one of the most profitable beer distributorships in the Midwest. George P Smyrniotis

Editor: Although I am no scholar or even a serious researcher on the subject, Daniel Pipes’ “Londonistan” made me wonder. We properly seek out those who reasonably can be expected to harm us by violence.  However, we do not see any inquiry seeking to know about those Muslims who profess the wish to assimilate into American or other Western society. What degree will they take a stand in favor of Americans vs. Muslim terrorists? We had a Muslim woman speak to our Christian Breakfast meeting in my city. She was in no way offensive in her talk.  However, this date was shortly after 9/11, and not one word was uttered about 9/11, no expression of regret or sorrow for this barbaric act.  One wonders. Terry Smith
