Editor: In regard to your editorial, ”Know It All Feds,” at this point in time I think the question should be "Does the government know anything?" This 43-year Republican is getting feed up with them. This does not mean I will switch parties, just refuse to support either. Ray Lindquist, Arizona

Editor: Wonderful “Know It All Feds” article. John McCullough, Easton, PA

Editor: Regarding Daniel Pipes’ “Iranian Messiah” all I can say is: Amen. Joseph Koss

Editor: Boy was Paul Weyrich’s “Turning It Around” timely. I whole heartedly agree! Progress seemed like such a good thing until I started noticing how badly things were getting when the new generation started taking over. When I was younger progressivism seemed great. Not so anymore as we are really loosing our culture unless something is done. Today, somehow, “progress” doesn't like people who don't agree with those promoting it. The fact is some people have been here longer and have more experience. They might have something useful to say. We seem to have lost respect for all of the elders of the world, including our own. We need people to set an example for us in the future. We used to have many role models. Who is replacing them? Prayer is one of our strengths and it is also one of the casualties of this war. My prayers are with Mr. Weyrich and all those fighting for the culture. Tara, a conservative Virginia

Editor: Vincent Fiore’s piece about Judge Alito is great and it sure was nice to see someone telling the truth for a change. I sure do hope someone will soon tell Kennedy he is not running the government and so he should shut up. Thanks a Lot, Clarice Fields

Editor: Congratulations to Nathan Tabor for his article “ Religion of Science.” It is a fantastic and succinct article. Thanks, Chuck Hambrick"

Editor: Excellent article by Sam Ryan on postal privatization. In many industries labor over prices it's self and the postal employee's have reached that level. I believe that this is the year that Postal Employee's contract expires, and new contract bargaining begins. I am sure that the postal employee's will be asking for higher wages and better benefits. They will have learned nothing from what is occurring within the auto & airline industries. The time for privatization has come. Wain Pearce

Editor: The Post Office and the Mint have very cleverly hyped collecting rather than using their product - money in the bank they will never have to provide service for. Maybe another bright idea: when the price of a first class stamp is raised, instead of setting a deadline for the last day the old stamp will be honored, set a deadline for the last day the old stamp will be printed. There may well be a run on the older stamps - all to the good. What company in the world wouldn't like to have its product or service paid for well in advance of delivery - money in the bank earning interest. Don Ellenberger

Editor: In regard to Elaine Donnelly’s piece on the military sex surveys is concerned, as long as men and women serve together there will always be problems, some real and some perceived. Let’s face it, some guys never learn and some women think they have a license to do anything they want and then scream sexual harassment when they don't get their way. It happens in the civilian life as well as in the military. And it is usually the unfortunate fact in this day and time that the man is always considered guilty regardless of the circumstances. It can be a look, too long a look, or maybe the poor guy didn't look at all. Where sexual harassment really happens it can be handled by other men and doesn't have to destroy a person. But we have to put a woman in charge who usually blows it out of proportion and wants the poor guys private parts hanging above her desk as a trophy. It happens. In the work place today as well as the military men can cause problems just being polite. The rules of conduct are what they, the women say they are and these rules can change day to day. Everyone is so afraid of bad press or getting sued there is little common sense. I don't suppose that any survey was done about reverse harassment? It happens too. Bud Hensley

Editor: I would like commend Bill Lauderback for his defense of Muhammad Ali's receipt of the Medal of Freedom from President Bush. I went through a process of saluting Ali in 1987-1988 before he was restored through the Olympics to a new role as a senior American figure promoting peace and understanding around the world. I was the President of the California Bicentennial Foundation for the Constitution and Bill of Rights and I selected three living American icons that best personified the vitality of the Constitution and came up with the most unlikely combination- that actually did make sense: Muhammad Ali, Buzz Aldrin and Mickey Mouse. I ended up arranging for the publication of the oral history/biography of Ali by Thomas Hauser, in 1990 and the presentation of the Spirit of America Award to Ali by the Governor of California, along with Reagan Kitchen Cabinet member Holmes Tuttle, Jimmy Stewart and Bob Hope.

Editor: Regarding Hans Zeigler’s article on the Boy Scouts, the liberal socialists in this country have no use for any moral or honorable group be it Boy Scouts, Christians, or even many individuals. The god of socialism is permissiveness and political correctness as determined by the left and their minions. They wish to rule this country and turn it into a European clone. They are ignorant of the fact that socialism like it's more violent cousin Marxism are failed experiments. They hate the freedoms that the real mainstream of this country enjoys and will fight to protect. They use the same ploys of dictators and radicals of the past. They claim to be for the underdogs and the common man, while at the same time they attack every freedom and moral principle that this country was founded on. The left is the enemy of the Boy Scouts as well as every moral individual in this country. BH
