Editor: Will Muslims Inherit the World? No, the meek shall. AW

Editor: Reading your editorial discussing the demographics of the world of 2050 offers a stunning reminder of the true meaning of conservatism--which has always been fundamentally concerned with the long term. It exposes the shallowness of so-called "conservatives" who can only think as far ahead as the next fiscal quarter--or the next election--and have no qualms about shouldering future generations with ravaging levels of debt. Sincerely, Robert P. Forbes

Editor: The Islam Triumphant piece was a great one! Tara, a concerned conservative Virginian

Editor: Your article on Islam is very pertinent and timely. As a history major with special interest in the Middle East I have been increasingly concerned with the fact of Muslims emigrating to the Western world (as well as elsewhere). It is a tenet of the Koran that Islam is to conquer the world for Allah and that it can be done either through conquest and conversion, or through emigration until Muslims become a significant portion of the population and can prevail politically and then proceed to conversion. Perhaps the best book on the subject -- at least as far as I am aware of -- is Serge Trifkovic's, The Sword of the Prophet. I thought so highly of it that I recently sent Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice a copy. Whether she will read it or not I have no idea, but hopefully she will. In any case, congratulations on your article. Wayne B. Williamson, Peoria, AZ

Editor: Great editorial on the Muslim future. I just happened to lecture on that topic both recently and again this morning. Sincerely, Roman Joch, Prague, Czech Republic

Editor: Your editorial on Islam Triumphant was well written but left out for the most part what the current problem truly is in this war between Muslim and the rest of the world. It is pure and simple about which religion will dominate the other over the next several centuries. If you look at the Muslim history they have never forgiven their losses in Spain and the Crusades that followed, which was wrong. The Muslim area of the world--principally the Middle East--for the last 500 years was poor and mostly nomadic, until Henry Ford came along and invented the horseless carriage and then money poured into the area for oil and now a 100 years later we are facing a major religious war. John Ronan

Editor: Your article on this topic was interesting but I must disagree with one statement (not bad out of so many). You said regarding Vietnam "It is true that irregular forces were victorious even against U.S. arms in Vietnam." This is not true. Neither the North Vietnamese Army nor the Viet Cong ever won a battle against US forces. The victory was won politically in that the will to win was sucked dry by Soviet-supported protest movements. As you mentioned in the article the will to win is the key factor. Thank you, Don Walker

Editor: I take issue with your comparison of marriage in Islamic Society versus Western Societies. While divorce rates are too high in the U.S., a significant percentage of the increased rate, over historical levels, is the result of the freedom and liberty enjoyed by Western women. Unlike women in Islamic societies, Western women are not forced into arranged marriages, then made to suffer a lifetime of misery and, frequently, abused with no recourse, such as divorce. Western women also have the freedom to work in any profession to support themselves and are not dependent on marriage to assure financial support or to get ahead. The bottom line is that marriage is not strong in Islamic societies because of moral superiority but because of force, coercion and suppression of women. Thanks and keep up the great work. Jamie Corey, NC

Editor: You state in the article that the Muslims "infrequently" divorce. But many missionaries we know tell us that in Muslin countries "if you do not get along with your wife", she ends up dying of natural causes. They are never investigated. This would take care of the number of divorces. I think you need to spend some time and look into this a little further. They are also allowed to have up to four wives. The article was good and does make a point. Robert

Editor: A very interesting article on the increase in the Muslim population. There is a key factor that your article did not consider, and that is environmental stress. As population grows in countries that are already home to significant ecological limits (e.g. Indonesia, an island nation), or Nigeria (droughts), this rapid population growth will have a significant destabilizing effect. This could very well have the impact of spreading Islamic militancy, as large numbers of the young and poor seek or demand resources outside of their impoverished homelands. Jared Diamond (author of "Guns, Germs, and Steel" and "Collapse: Why civilizations choose to succeed or fail") believes that much of the violence that tore apart Rwanda was based on a shortage of land and other resources. We would be well advised to look seriously at this as a possibility. Again, enjoyed the article! Sincerely, Beth Plymale

Editor: I have read your article about Islam and I agree with you 100%. Islam is a threat to the world although not all of them are terrorists but their heart is with them. It all started in Saudi Arabia. I have personally been there for years and I am very acquainted with their mentality. They don't like the West or really any non-Muslim society because they believe the West has no morality and they are infidels. The Saudis invest all over the world to build mosques but Christians are not allowed to build churches there. In Egypt they always claim that 10% of the population is Christian, going back 40 or 50 years now, although the Christians in Egypt are wealthy and well educated a lot have immigrated to the West. But still the Government of Egypt has always persecuted Christians. The same can be said for the rest of the Middle East. President Bush is trying to democratize the Arabs but this is practically impossible. I wish him luck anyway. If it wasn't for Israel destroying most of the arsenal the Soviet Union sold to the Arabs they would still be threatening the world militarily. Thank you and God bless, Guido Jacob

Editor: Great article on Islam! Something to think about and understand! Thanks

Editor: This is an eye opening article on Islam and if we continue as we are now Islam will be triumphant without a shot being fired. That is the way it should be. The Catholic Church was doing a good job for Christianity until affluence became the controlling issue. Thank you for providing this article. Dick Haynes

Editor: I just read your article, 'Islam Triumphant?' As you mentioned, the Muslim world cannot triumph over the U.S. militarily and I don't think terrorists like Bin Laden place much hope on insurgencies. There's no doubt that al-Qaida and other Middle East terrorist groups harbor hate for the United States and intend to do great harm to Americans whenever and wherever they can. But military victories and the murder of Americans is not Bin Laden's primary objective. Bin Laden and his henchmen seek "Islamic Triumph" by crippling the American economy. By puncturing the very foundation of the economy, terrorists can devastate our nation. They are determined to create an atmosphere in the homeland where America, like ancient Rome, crumbles from within. Al-Qaida knows that the destruction of the New York subway system along with the bridges feeding Manhattan would wreak far greater havoc on the American economy than the destruction of the Twin Towers - regardless the number killed. While an isolated incident may not be enough to significantly upset the economy, a series of attacks would! A crippled American economy would obviously result in escalating unemployment and increases in poverty and crime, and would probably impair the American Spirit, which is heavily reliant on the confidence and optimism of its citizens. The rippling effects of the aforementioned consequences are almost endless! Lee Cleveland

Editor: Marx & Mohammed are to be taken seriously. They still control too many millions, including the 5th column, multi-cultural brainwashers now in the government, schools & universities. Conservative, yes but Judeo-Christian ideas need bold communication on "responsible, constitutionally-based freedom", as was done by Reagan & now is being done by Bush. Is it time for bold change--even locally? You bet it is! Yours honestly, Steve Walsh

Editor: Man's problems and downfalls remain the same year after year, century after century and millennium after millennium. Man's ignorance and rebellion against the one true God and His one and only revealed Word in our Bible has caused all the wars and suffering of all mankind. God created man and woman in His own Image. He created them with a spirit, soul and mind so they could think, reason and make choices. He allowed Satan to have the world that man and woman would live in and replenish the earth and give glory to the one true God and Creator of all things "All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. "In Him was life, and the life was the light of men." John 1:1-4. God has given man His Word to live and die by. God will not accept any person following any man, any Church or organization. He will accept and bless eternally only those who know, believe and obey His Revealed Word in our Holy Bible. When a person reads, hears, studies and obeys God's Commandments, they will know the Words are the revelation of the one true and living God. James L. French, Buffalo, Texas

Editor: Will the Muslims inherit the world? My answer according to the Scriptures from The Bible is that they will not. A prophecy in Daniel (2:44 -- kings during the Roman Empire) told about God setting up His kingdom to consume all other kingdoms and none shall prevail against it. He was of course talking about a Spiritual Kingdom which Jesus Christ said that He would build (Matthew 16:18-19) and fulfilled on the Day of Pentecost (Acts 2) we see that this kingdom came into affect upon this day by the wording in Acts 2:47 -- the Kingdom and the church being the same (Matthew 16:18-19). Some great day the glorious Savior Jesus Christ will return to gather His saints to be with Him forever. All false religions will be gathered up and thrown into the Lake of Fire (Matthew 15:13;Revelation 19:20; 20:10, 14, 15). There is no other name under heaven whereby we may be saved -- that is in Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12). Therefore I believe what God has told us in His Holy Scriptures that unless one in under the blood of Christ (Acts 2:38, 22:16) he or she will perish into hell damnation forever. God Bless and may you have a great day. In His Name, Jack Langford

Editor: Nice article by Gov. Mark Sanford. I always thought that simply stating that seat belt NON-use could amount to forfeiture of insurance coverage for collision injuries would be much more effective than levying a fine (say, as in the article, of only $12.00)! Steven Purdy, Appleton, WI

Editor: Concerning Alan Quist's article on Federally Funded Civics, It is interesting that the civics textbook in question came out during the Clinton administration isn't it? "It takes a village" nonsense is pure socialism at best. How to achieve such a liberal utopian society is to attack the institutions. The Constitution is under attack in the courts, while the left misrepresents the Bill of Rights in children's textbooks to be nothing more than the ramblings of some old men. The best gift you can give a teenager is a copy of the Constitution and a decent book on the Federalist Papers and let them read it for themselves and discuss what these gentlemen created in the early days of our nation. I have several small copies of the Constitution and one stays in my fanny pack (I am associated with the Boy Scouts) so that during the teaching of the scouts’ citizenship merit badges they can have a resource available to help them understand how this country works and their responsibilities as citizens. My children probably remember me explaining to them the Constitution and their rights and pointing out constantly the idiots on the left who were twisting the truth to fit their agendas. I considered it my duty as a parent and a citizen and I hope they and all Americans teach their children about these matters. They certainly aren't getting it in the schools and not very accurate information on Television. Sincerely Yours, Bud Hensley
