CBS Owes Apology
by Ron Ford

Dan RatherCBS News has been at the forefront of the abandonment of the journalistic creed. Instead of holding the creed close to the heart as principle to follow, CBS has turned the other way.

The American public has sensed a liberal bias in network news reporting for a considerable amount of time. Since the election of President Bush and particularly the US invasion of Afghanistan the bias of CBS as well as other network news has become glaringly apparent. CBS has used every tool available to forcefully and overtly discredit President Bush and his administration. CBS is attempting to influence the election. CBS should register as a foreign agent and turn in its broadcast license.

CBS News is guilty of either unprofessional incompetence or outright fraud as a result of reporting obviously forged documents as authentic during a "60 Minutes" segment. These "new" documents were easily debunked by solid evidence from casual Internet sources as well as forensic document experts, typographers and retired military officers. Red flags were too numerous to include here, but closer examination quickly proved the supposedly 30-year-old documents were generated in a modern-day typeface from a printer, not a typewriter.

At the least, Rather and CBS are guilty of gross incompetence by allowing their obsession to overtly smear the President outweigh even a semblance of fairness. It appears CBS News is guilty of deliberately reporting what they knew to be false, and engaging in libel and slander against the President of the United States. CBS owes the American public a confession of their overt and blatant anti-conservative bias.
