Editor: Regarding “Obama Bureaucracy Payoff”, the battle is over folks. We lost by the stupidity of the people of this country. They wanted change and you can bet they will get it. Right up the old you-know-what, I hope. Let’s see all the free stuff that comes next for all the people who don't want to go to school and don't want to work. You know the ones on the corners selling drugs, impregnating all the women they can their hands on and then run away and let dopes like me to pay for their financial support. Great country we have here folks! I am a 76 year old Korean Vet that feels like I got screwed serving this country while draft dodgers sat at home on their ass or ran to Canada. Yet, for what? This Washington D.C. is full of criminals in high places. They lie, they cheat, and they steal from us stupid folks because we let them! Oh, no discrimination here folks, No I mean both parties! What a bunch of free loaders! Milk the tax payer for all they are worth, like the auto industries and financial institutions do. Who is next? Maybe the whore houses could use some extra money to build and expand their business! Why not? They deserve it as much as the other businesses do! When you take money from anybody you are a whore anyway. Go for it GM, Ford, Chrysler. You deserve it! People like me do not! All we get to do is pay. Klinka
Editor: “Obama Bureaucracy Payoff’ is very interesting reading. What I believe would be wonderful is when these types of articles appear, someone actually publish one of these letters from Obama or the "Obama Camp". Nobody seems to be able to get the evidence in print - which is what I think is needed to show what's really going on! C. Consolo
Editor: “Obama Bureaucracy Payoff”, is an excellent article but it ignores the "big picture." The "government" has NO treasury. It does have a lot of debt though. The London Free Trader reports that the United States has over 50 TRILLION dollars in debt issues around the world. The U.S. is running the biggest Ponzi scheme in the world. The 64 dollar question is - how long will the suckers keep buying our paper assets? Thanks, Robert Wolfe
Editor: Am I the only one who sees we are no longer a nation of Jefferson’s natural aristocracy and people who elect public servants but are becoming a nation of supplicants and clients? From auto makers, bankers, airlines, rich executives who make bad business calls, everybody is on the teat. The average UAW maker gets $50,000 a year or so. What is the sense of making folks who make $20 an hour bail them out? Anyone know how to contact Jefferson, Franklin, Washington, Adams? Joseph Barrett
Editor: Regarding S.T. Karnick’s “Palin Hoax Media Scandal,” I followed the campaign and election through the coverage on the nightly O'Reilly show on Fox. I was watching after the election when Cameron got on camera, looked the camera right in the eye, and dribbled that BS about Palin. It reminded me of the night that I was watching Bill Clinton look at the camera and say: "I did not have sexual relations with that woman." In both cases it was so obvious that the story was not true. I told my wife that I could not believe what I was seeing: how could O'Reilly allow such unattributed and unverified nonsense to be spewed on his show? Instantly, O'Reilly lost all his credibility as a "newsman" and Cameron as a "news reporter." I have not watched O'Reilly's show since that night. When I tried to send an e-mail to O'Reilly.com to tell him how upset I was, it was rejected because I was not a "paid subscriber". When I subsequently read in the NYT that the whole thing was a hoax put on by Martin Eisenstadt, I thought it was a brilliant and very funny put on (SNL material), and it exposed the gullible weakness and shoddy standards of O'Reilly. Do you think it is fair to blame all of Fox News? I still like Brit Hume. Art O'Leary.
Editor: You should get “Palin Hoax Media Scandal” by S.T. Karnick to Bill O'Reilly. He reported on the hoax and has devoted prominent time on his show to it. He should be making a big deal of this and apologize for misleading his audience. I enjoy Bill's show, generally, but don't agree with him always. Ed Nicholson
Editor: Your article “No Gas Cut Hearings?” by Robert Higgs is just one more example demonstrating the socialist mentality of the Democrats. Vote all Democrats out of office! Jim Morgan, Boca Raton, FL
Editor: Regarding Daniel Pipes’ quote in his “Muslims on Obama Win” that a Muslim would lead the West, I would like to know how we can be sure if the translation of what was said in the 7th century is accurate? These things tend to get miss-translated. Do you have a primary source? This is interesting to say the least. Thank you, Julie
Editor: Thank Dennis Avery for his “ China Sinks New Kyoto.” China pushes her own agenda and may not realize that her refusal to go along with the doom-and-gloom agenda of the socialist nations who want to control Earth's government is the best thing to happen on Earth in a very long time. Lust for power instigated the 'financial crisis (which isn't a crisis but merely graft-laden miss-management). Global warming/global cooling continue their centuries-old purposes. Lust for power fuels the global-warming 'crisis' that is a natural ebb and flow of the Universe. Yes, China, India, Brazil, Mexico need to cut deadly air emissions, but if their people die from cold and hunger-- who will benefit from stringent non-productive regulations? May German Chancellor Angela Merkel be strengthened in her resolve to build more brown-coal and nuclear power plants. Thank you Mr. Avery for an information-loaded article. Rose
Editor: Does Al Gore know about all this, the information in Dennis Avery’s “China Sinks New Kyoto”? I have had my doubts about "global warming" and about the part human activity has played in it. I am for conservation and efficiency, but not for creating more economic havoc than is already present. Where do Gore and the environmentalists think the energy will come from to sustain the economic well being of the USA. Conservation can't do it, can it? Wind and solar can't do it, can it? They don't want nuclear. What will move the trucks? One suggestion was solar along the railroad right-of-way to move the heavy loads, but rails don't go everywhere that freight needs to go. Water transportation is cheaper (but slower), but it doesn't go everywhere either. How can people refuse to allow drilling offshore and in ANWR when we are sending so much money for oil to countries that are not allies and to some that are enemies? What has happened to logic and common sense? Donald W. Bales
Editor: I just read Mark Rhoads’ “National Review RIP” eulogy for NR. Let's hope reports of its spiritual death are exaggerated. I've just submitted an article to them. Maybe if they print it, we can celebrate an NR revival! Sincerely, Karl Spence, San Antonio, Texas
Editor: I think David Keene was on target with his article “What Do Republicans Do Now”. I worked hard at Republican Headquarters and our county went Republican, but unfortunately the larger cities like, Columbus, Cincinnati, Cleveland, etc went Democratic. I hope we can emerge with some strong Republican leaders and soon. We need to get back to our basic principles and roots. I do believe Sarah Palin was the best thing to happen to the Republican Party. I think another person running for president would have put them in the White House. McCain is a good man but not presidential material! Someone else would have done better I do believe. (Mrs.) Feryle Lawrence, Gallipolis, OH
Editor: In an effort for Republicans to position themselves for future political success and reach a broad spectrum of new voters, we must define who we really are. After all, "Words Do Matter!" It's amazing that Democrats, also known as "liberals," have found it imperative to redefine themselves as "progressives." Why? The word liberal has morphed into an objectionable word with an extremely poor image. Let's get it straight! Liberals wish to control absolutely everything imaginable: unions, health care, free speech, the climate, taxation. In fact, their ideology enslaves individualism and keeps the poor poor! The list goes on! Conservatives, (far from being staid narrow-minded bores) desire freedom from government, from taxation, from world domination by evil tyrants, while inspiring a clean planet (not a phony, trumped up confiscatory Global Warming scam) and individual empowerment within the American Dream! I close with my personal experience of saying to younger folks "Republicans want our country to be free and Democrats want to control & suppress! Their faces show astounding anger and disbelief! It's time that Republicans define and speak out about who we truly are, "The Practical Thinking Freedom Party!" After all, words do matter! Melinda, Vero Beach, FL
Editor: GM, Ford, Chrysler, the UAW, and some on Capitol Hill are pleading for (y)our taxpayers' money to bail out a mismanaged industry. Just a few days ago, the call was for $25 Billon. Now, it's $38 Billion, and maybe swelling to hundreds of Billions. Where are written contracts between legislators on Capitol Hill and UAW leaders, or Big 3 CEOs? For this failure, taxpayers and legislators must demand leadership changes with the Big 3 CEOs and/or the UAW leadership, we must compel written agreements to slash bonuses, trim cost of employee earnings of some $141,000 pay and benefits annually, and more. Not just promises! Big 3 executives say consumers aren't buying new vehicles. Consumers are not purchasing new cars because of our decaying economy. Big 3 and the UAW management have created this auto economical crisis. Maybe, Big 3 and UAW members should finance this bailout with their own savings and retirement programs, rather than injuring taxpayers. Through his wisdom, Ronald Reagan once said, 'Trust, but Verify'. These words should apply today. In lieu of written contracts to verify, US Bankruptcy Court is the practical answer. Our Judiciary can cancel Big 3 bonuses, as well at UAW contracts. Oscar Y Harward
Editor: I feel ashamed that I did not see how insidiously liberals snuck in to take over our country. They took over our schools. Acorn is all around us. They want to run our health care. To be honest I am frightened of what is happening to our country. Mary Sireci
