Politics and 911

Editor: In your March 23, 2004 issue, you seemed reluctant to mention the years before Bill Clinton. I've pointed this out to many conservatives and never get an answer or honest reply why this is avoided. As you pointed out early on in your issue, our problems have come from our policies in the Middle East. The problem started with Gulf War One, leaving Saddam in power to balance the threat from Iran. Your time line during the Clinton years backs this up. But if you go back a little farther, the lack of follow up after the Marine killing in Beirut certainly didn't send a clear message, giving Syria more power & influence, while giving terrorist new hope.

Now we are holding back troops while they are under attack, and I have some of the same bad feelings I had under Clinton. Or is it another Vietnam? As a Vietnam Veteran, I hope not, but it looks like a civil war as soon as we leave and W seems missing in action right now. Getting reelected should not be his number one job right now, but it sure looks like it.

May God show us an answer before the election. If this gets Kerry elected, it might just have been the worst move possible. We dare not look like Spain now; that would again send the wrong message. Thanks for your effort to explain these matters but I just felt the need to point out that this should not be a Democrat or GOP problem but one for all of us.
