Liberal Radio is a Joke, Literally!
by Robert Martin

Liberals have finally found an answer to Rush Limbaugh, the liberal radio network Air America. Now that the infrastructure is laid, the supply lines and communication channels secured, the liberal militants are finally armed to do battle in the cultural wars. The most important and telling statement however was their choice of leaders. Who do the liberals choose as best suited to communicate their liberal message? Who do they choose to be their standard bearers? You guessed it, comedians. Who better fit to promote the Looney Left’s agenda? Comedians Al Franken and Janeane Garofalo form the foundation of the network, and are entrusted to defend the liberal ideology in the culture war raging over the air-ways. If it wasn’t so sad it would be funny, but the symbolism speaks volumes. To Liberals, the future of America seems to be a laughing matter. The Majority Report", co-hosts Janeane Garofalo and Sam Seder

A simple review of their positions makes if obvious why comedians were hired. How does one take seriously a Presidential candidate who has been on both sides of almost every major issue facing America today? How does one seriously discuss a Presidential candidate that, while appearing on Face the Nation, claimed that that no Senator would vote for going to war in Iraq, then vote against its funding. “That would be irresponsible,” and then he turned around and did that very thing?

How does one keep a straight face while criticizing President Bush for not doing enough to stop 9-11, and then opposing the Patriot Act that gives the President the ability to do more of what the liberals are demanding should have been done? How does one not laugh when attacking President Bush for not getting a UN resolution to attack Iraq, and yet supporting President Clinton for attacking Bosnia without UN approval?

How does one seriously defend NOW’s support of Bill Clinton and opposition to President Bush, even after President Bush has liberated millions of women from Taliban oppression, and President Clinton made a mockery of sexual harassment laws? How does one defend Jessie Jackson and his rainbow coalition’s opposition to President Bush when he has two of the highest ranking African Americans ever to serve this country on his staff? How does one seriously argue that outsourcing jobs has harmed America, while more jobs have been outsourced to America than from it, and the Democratic candidate himself owes his wealth to the multi-national Heinz food company?

While this list could go on and on, one thing is clear. The hallmark of the liberal mind is the ability to withstand extreme cognitive dissonance, to exercise selective memory, and to revise history as needed. Because facts are irrelevant, or actually destructive to the liberal positions, it is clear why comedians are needed, and are the appropriate choice to convey the liberal message. Liberals don’t want to engage in serious debate because they will lose, so they must detract from their illogical message by using humor and or ad hominine attacks. How else can one explain why John Kerry and the Teamsters support a natural gas pipeline from Alaska to Chicago which would disrupt hundreds if not thousands of miles of tundra, forest, rivers, and wildlife, and yet they oppose drilling in only 2000 acres of ANWR, without using humor? Their positions are a joke, so comedians are needed to deliver the message.
