Personal Abortion Story

My name is Yvonne Florczak-Seeman and I ran away from home at 16 years of age because I became pregnant. Having no other place to go, I was forced to move in with my boyfriend. Under the constant strain of his physical and mental abuse, I quickly found myself sliding into an inescapable abyss of depression. Realizing the dire state my life was reaching, I arrived at the agonizing decision to terminate the life of my unborn child. I can still vividly remember the visit to the abortion clinic. I remember them telling me continuously that my situation was temporary and that in just a few hours it would all be over. They couldn't have been more wrong. In the three long hours I spent there, I was never advised of what the long-term consequences would be after I left. The true result of that abortion was the complete destruction of my life for the 17 years that followed.

I wish I could say that I learned the proverbial "Lesson" after that experience. However, the reality is that I not only survived that traumatic incident but went on to have four additional pregnancy terminations. Now you may ask how does a person manage to survive such a situation not just once but five times? The truth is that after the first abortion my mind had concluded that it was a necessary and reasonable response to my circumstances. The four abortions that followed were merely simple medical procedures. This self-serving scientific designation was created to hide the fact that the first abortion had managed to not only, scrape, rip, and suck out my human tissue but had also succeeded in removing my soul and personal identity.

Looking back now I truly believe that I have been allowed to survive those terribly painful experiences so that I may tell others about the consequences of abortion. It is very clear to me that my life and my experiences are not things to be shrouded in silence and secrecy.

I realize that these revelations are beyond shocking. I share them not to make people uncomfortable, or to tap into one's sympathy nerve, but rather, to rally people into joining with me as we stand against one of the biggest horrors in our nation, death through abortion!

For years now we have been hearing the pro-life movement arguing, "its a baby" and the Pro-Choice movement screaming, "its a fetus!" Well I represent a new movement! A movement that no one can silence because this movement is being headed up by women who know whether or not it was a baby! For 31 years its been the best kept secret! Over 50 million babies have died because of abortion just in this nation. As a women, I know first hand that all five of those pregnancies were babies! Human beings who as our president stated deserved a better welcome!

Today I speak in schools both private and public and share my testimony of what "choice" really means. As a Hispanic female and business owner, I know that too many of my own don't understand why they vote for a Democrat ticket. It's time to educate.

It just amazes me to see how many women are finding the strength to break the silence and tell others that abortion is not in the best interest of the women; it doesn't protect them it hurts them!
